More Proven Traffic Building Tips

When it comes to traffic building, it becomes evident that there are some methods that work and some that don’t. For my presentation today, I wish to discuss those methods that do work. Some of the methods I discuss take more time to build up than others, but they are well worth the time and effort invested in them.
The first method is forum marketing. Among the many methods used online, this is one of the best. There are a number of forums out there that areset up with specific themes in mind. These themes can be industry or business specific with the idea of sharing ideas between members.
Then, there are other forums that are more general in nature and allow a wider range of topics to be discussed. These forums are the best to search out and market in. The one thing to remember about forum marketing is that one cannot blatantly spam them.
A number of forums allow for advertsing in specific areas. Then there are those that do not. In these, you can place your links in your signature files. When marketing in theforums, you must get active in them and stay active. stay on topic within the discussions and don’t veer off to promote your site or service.
Finally, the one major thing to remember is to obey the forum rules. Some forums allow a certain number of posts per day. Others only allow signature files to be posted after a certain number of posts. Failing to obey forum rules could cost your membership in them and lost traffic.
Another good method of traffic building is though reciprocal linking or link swapping. This takes longer to build up, but is well worth the time invested. With this method, both participating sites enjoy the traffic overflow from the other by means of traded links permanently placed othe other’s website.
Another way to do this is through reciprocal linking scripts that allow permanent links to be placed on them. These scripts are automated and can give the participating sites a common site which functions like a community for all the sites. This is a method that works. There are webmasters who swear by its success.
An added bonus to this form of traffic building is that it also helps build a website’s ranking in the search engines.
E-mail marketing is still considered to be one of the best ways to promote there is. It can get great results in a short period of time. Using safelists is considered to be a good means of promotion. But there is something to be cautious about. If you are renting a list be sure it is from a reputable company.
You will find that there are a number of fly by night companies out there that will sell you harvested lists or lists so worn out that they are less than useless. These are the companies to be avoided at all costs.
Without a doubt, viral marketing is one of the best ways to promote known. It has a minimal starting investment and, once started, it can grow on its own with little or almost no further promotions from the website owner. This form of marketing takes a life of its own. Traffic exchanges that offer commissions are a common example.
Viral marketing comes in so many forms that it is difficult to define. It can range from the most popular which is affiliate marketing to the simpler version which is giving away free reports or ebooks.
One form of viral marketing is known as article marketing. There are those who swear by their success due to this form of marketing alone. Article marketing has a number of benefits which range from backlinks to search engine placement. Articles, more often than not, show up in search engine results sooner than the site they represent do. I like to view them as sales representatives for my website.

Helpful Tips For Your Personal Security

For the majority of us, the idea of being robbed is especially frightening. We feel very alone and are at the mercy of the robber. Even more frightening, is when we are held up when we are at the ATM machine. Conceivably, the robber could financially wipe out their victim in a matter of minutes. In worse case scenarios, you could even have your identification stolen.
But did you know that there is a way to notify the police without the robber knowing it? If forced to withdraw money from your accounts by someone who is robbing you, simply do this:
Type your pin number in backwards. For example, if your pin is 7245, then you would type in the number 5427. The ATM machine will recognize from your card that the number is backwards and notify police.
The ATM will still give you the money you requested so as not to arouse your robber’s suspicions. He will not realize that because you typed your pin number backwards, the police have been dispatched to your assistance.
Be aware of anyone standing or parked near the atm machine. Most would be robbers position themselves a relatively short distance from the ATM machine so that they can watch for a potential victim and close the distance quickly.
If you are robbed, it is best not to resist. If the thief is armed or claims to be so, don’t take any chances that could lead to your being injured. Also try to remember specific details about his or her physical appearance and speech that can aid your description to the authorities. Although, easier said than done, try to remain calm.
Never accept help from anyone. Most robbers are male and around 25 years of age. If you see someone approaching that seems to be threatening quickly terminate your transaction and walk away.
Always listen to your instincts. If they tell you one location is not safe, go to another location
.When you get money out of the ATM machine, don’t stop to count it. Put both your card and cash in your pocket quickly and leave.

Avoiding SEO Penalties Due To Plagiarism

In olden days, criminals were outcasts from society. In some cases, they were even excommunincated by the church. Website penalties are almost the same thing as being outcast. They (the sites) exist, but cannot be communicated with. In one very real way, they simply don’t exist to the Internet community we know.
How is this done? The search engines simply make sure that they do not show up in search results. Why? Some webmasters use what is sometimes referred to as black hat tactics to build their search rankings. One way that this is done is through plagiarism or duplicating someone else’s work and claiming it as one’s own.
The search engines take a very dim view of this practice and “punish” the offending website harshly. To them, copied material is simply that, copied material. While it seems certain that most know and understand that copying whole articles is plagiarism, most do not realize that copying sentences or parts of articles can also be considered plagiarizing. Search engines will skip duplicated content as a means of speeding up the search and results process. Nothing personal is meant by this practice, it’s just business. Remember that search engines are in the business of providing information as efficiently as possible. Otherwise, a search would yield hundreds of duplicate pages for a single search. It would be very inefficient.
On the other hand, there is an incredible amount of temptation for writers and webdesigners to copy other site text or article text. The pressure comes from deadlines that are getting shorter everyday. The competition in any given niche is made worse simply because the number of sites are so numerous and growing each day. This should be avoided at all costs.
For the most part, content duplication is an Internet no-no with offending sites being punished harshly. The only exceptions to this are news outlets and article directories.
Otherwise, duplication is strictly off limits to the average content writer. Duplication can and will attract the very crippling SEO penalties that have been the death of many websites. THey should be avoided at all costs in order to be successful online. A good rule of thumb to use is original content is KING.
Let’s look at some of the ways content writers can avoid SEO penalties in their work.
Write Original Content - I realize this point has already been made, but I cannot emphasize this point enough. Original content is KING. It is the only thing the search engines will accept. The only successful writer is the one who writes his own original content. He does not copy the work of others even when he is doing research.
Rework And Reword Content - If you are borrowing ideas from another source, make sure that you reword the content. This and reworking the content is another way to avoid plagiarism penalties. In this fashion the content is still the same, but in your words not theirs.
Change The Way Your Points Are Laid Out - If your article has a number of points to be made in it, another tip is to change the order in which they are made. Rephrasing them is also a good idea. Doing this is another good method of avoiding the SEO penalties.
Utilize Different Ghost Writers - Unless you are very good at writing yourself, you may find that you will be in need of articles to use to promote your site. A good idea is to hire different writers to do your writing for you. Assign each with different key words to allow for maximum originality. Hiring a qualified writer is not so expensive as it may sound.
Plagiarized work can never escape the watchful eyes of the search engines. But there are a number of clever ways to avoid being penalized that are perfectly legal. Your work will be counted as original. Remember, original content is KING.

When Is Outsourcing A Bad Idea?
Posted on April 21, 2008

While outsourcing can be a beneficial idea for just about any business, there are times and places that it is not a good idea and should, therefore be avoided. Some companies enjoy such benefits as reduced labor costs and more flexible work forces. At the same time, they may enjoy greater profits. Despite these advantages, there will invariably arise a situation that is cannot be used.
Along with the enviable scenarios where outsourcing can be an option, there are also those scenarios when it is not a good idea. In situations like this, keeping the work in-house is not only the best solution, but the only solution.
When Outsourcing Becomes Too Costly
Despite the obvious advantage of cost reduction that is associated with outsourcing, such as a company not having to pay social security and health care and other costs, there are the costs related to efficiency that are to be considered when hiring industry experts.
Despite this, there are some situations when hiring an industry expert may actually be more costly than it otherwise would. To explain this a little differently, hiring a given expert in any given field may actually be far more expensive than keeping the job in-house. He or she may charge far more than it otherwise might cost.
These fees for hiring experts with highly specialized skills or education is often quite expensive. Take for example, SEO specialized programmers. Their skills are not only needed, but are often quite costly. Along with this, there would be the added costs of locating those individuals and hiring them. These additional costs might also be too much for any business to incur.
When Outsourcing Causes Loss Of Control
Probably one of the single biggest issues related to outsourcing is maintaining control of the project. Businesses large and small face the same dilemma when it comes to outsourcing. The Internet Niche Marketer faces the problem in a more acute way. Should he or she outsource too many projects, then they are in danger of losing control of them all. This be be a disaster in the making.
For other businesses, outsourcing has a particular significance as the company is responsible for the work done. If the outsourcing company fails to keep close tabs on the project, they will be held responsible for its satisfactory completion. This is why it is in their own best interests to manage the project even after it has been delegated out.
Another point to consider is when the individual or company denies the outsourcing company access to project files or documentation. The hiring company should never be excluded from any decision making process or any documentation related to it. This is another scenario in which outsourcing should be considered a bad idea.
In the case mentioned above, extra care should be taken to lay out the ground rules for the project. Both parties should establish that the management should be retained by the employer as well as any documentation accessibility. If the project is a complex one, regular meetings should be held to discuss any issues and progress.
During these meetings, the contractor should provide any and all information need to evaluate the project’s progress andto determine whether or not it is still on schedule for completion.
When Outsourcing Is Not Permitted By The Client
For whatever reason the client may not want the project outsourced. There could be an issue of security, or any number of reasons. In any case, this is can be a particularly touchy issue and one that should not be violated by outsourcing.
Because these are contract issues, the company should be very careful to follow the client’s wishes. Failing to do so can result in contract disputes, refusal to pay for the work in question, or not hiring the company to work on future projects. None of these will benefit the company.

When Is Outsourcing The Only Option?
Posted on April 19, 2008

The decision as to whether or not a business owner should outsource any particular job is one of the most important decisions that could be made. This can be one of the most important and difficult decisions that any business owner could make irregardless of whether it is a large business or small.
But there may come a time when this decision has to be made for the survival, if not success of the business. In cases like this, the decision making process is greatly simplified. How could the decision be simplified?
The most obvious answer is when the in-house staff is not qualified for the task or when there just is not the manpower available to do the task at hand. Another aspect of this is when specific client requirements exceed the capabilities of the staff. In either case, the decision to outsource the project is the most obvious one.
The In-House Staff And Their Qualifications
When analyzing the qualifications of the in-house staff, a business owner may find that he has no one qualified to handle a particular task. This may occur when a task requires a highly specialized area of expertise or an advance degree in a particular field. This can be especially true in areas where the task is rare or an application has a very specific set of operating criteria. In cases like this, it would make little sense to hire someone into a full time positions that would only be used for a specific, and little used, ability. This would be expensive for the company and, in some ways, counter productive as well.
On the other hand, if this little used specialty becomes a much more in demand item then the issue of whether or not to outsource it becomes a muddled issue. But this article is not to explore these confusing issues, but to deal with those issues that deal with have to cases and no further.
Small companies, at one time or another, may face the difficulty of not having qualified personnel for a particular task. This issue is faced less often by larger companies, but occasionally, they too may run into it as particularly difficult tasks may arise. These larger companies have a greater pool of resources to draw from as opposed to the smaller ones.
In-House Staff Availability
Due to limited manpower availability, the decision to outsource becomes obvious. The workload may eliminate otherwise qualified people from working on a project. They may be busy doing multiple tasks and are under specific and unforgiving deadlines. With this in mind, outsourcing will not only be the best solution, but will also increase, if only temporarily, the manpower availability that the business may have.
The management is tasked with delegating these tasks to their employees. When they decide that their employees have reached their limits in what they can handle, they often will turn to outsourcing as their only viable solution.
The workload issue often becomes the reason for outsourcing. The employers and employees may have to prioritize tasks. They may have to prioritize among many tasks based on schedule and complexity as well as client demands. When these scheduling issues become a problem, outsourcing becomes a viable option to meet these demands.
The Client Requirements
Sometimes, the client requirements becomes so particular and complex that outsourcing becomes the only option. In cases like this, outsourced personnel with specific skills and qualifications may be required.
These specific skills may be in the form of specific training, knowledge of certain software programs, or previous experience not otherwise found. These particular skills may not be found by the owner in his or her in-house staff. In cases like this, the business owner may have no choice but to outsource the job.
In isolated incidents like this, businesses will often outsource these jobs. They make no efforts in maintaining employees with these skills. This would be an expensive and unproductive way for an employer to do business. Therefore, the wise decision, is to outsource these tasks.

Outsourcing: Analyzing The Costs And Benefits
Posted on April 18, 2008

Outsourcing jobs can be a very profitable way for a niche marketer to get things done in a timely manner. Most people make the false assumptions that outsourcing is primarily for small jobs or fixes to existing problems. While this can be true, it is only a small part of what outsourcing really is.
Outsourcing as a whole, covers a wide field and should not be limited to the “quick fix” or small jobs. No, it can be much more than that.
The market for outsourcing can cover every part of online marketing, from article writing to website setup and SEO preparation to actually running the site itself. In fact, some Internet Niche Marketers have turned over some or all of their site operations over to outsourced managers to run completely. These “managers” run the site and make all of the decisions as though the business were their own.
The quality of this outsourced help can range from poor to excellent. There is an old saying that holds specially true for hiring outsourced help: “You get what you pay for.”
For those marketers who focus entirely on pricing, they may not get the higher quality help they are seeking. The help they may be considering for hire may not be experienced enough, or simply may not know “the tricks of the trade.” The trade off for pricing verses quality is obvious and could be very costly in the end for the niche marketer.
The counter to the above is the niche marketer who is willing to spend more to get the job done right to his tastes and expectations. That is the focus and not pricing. This niche marketer is focused on “the big picture.”
For a business to attempt to keep their in house staff up to date on all of this would be very time consuming not to mention difficult. The employees would spend more time training than actually working. Obviously, this would impact the availability of the employees to perform their jobs resulting in missed deadlines and opportunities.
A good way to avoid these problems is to outsource jobs and fill in the gaps when project needs require skills beyond the staff abilities. This will help keep the company’s clients happy. This, in turn, could result in repeat business from the client. The reverse of this scenario would be lost business due to the company’s floundering on some previous job.
Another reason outsourcing can be helpful is the fact that it allows in house staff to participate in the training that they would not otherwise be able to get. How? By using outsourced help to keep the company’s work load up to date. The double benefit is that employees are better equipped to handle the tasks at hand and they are more marketable to the industry as a whole.
In cases like this, the company will benefit from outsourced help by having more knowledgeable employees to do the existing work while the in house staff is away being trained. This is beneficial to the employer as they do not lose business in the staffer’s absence.
The issue of increased manpower also benefits companies who wish to take on larger projects. These companies may work on smaller projects because they may not have the staffing to adequately cover the larger ones. Here is where outsourcing can help.
One challenge that outsourcing will bring up to any company is how to use it. The larger the project becomes, the more confident the company will be once they complete it. Success builds on success. This has a great significance as the larger projects will reap greater profits.

Outsourcing Makes The Job Easier

As an internet niche marketer, you will find yourself with a number of jobs to fulfill. The typical niche marketer is not afraid of hard work. They are a hard working bunch and are not afraid to get their hands dirty when it comes to getting involved in the business itself.
From brainstorming an idea to developing a niche to developing visually attractive website designs to writing attractive content and unique press releases. They are even active in industry forums and message boards. It is all a part of the job they do.
Astonishingly, the problems begin when they become successful. Their websites are growing, sales are increasing, their niche market is taking a lifeof its own. These markets will begin to take a larger and larger toll on the marketer’s time as he tries to develop more ideas for each.
Here is where the idea of outsourcing can help as the niche marketer will need to identify what aspects of each niche to delegate to someone else. In the scope of this article we will discuss two main areas of outsourcing, copy writing and website design.
When a niche marketer decides to outsource these two, he or she is not relinquishing total control, but only part of it. They are retaining control of crucial elements such as the creation or promotion of new or existing niches. Both elements are the most crucial, aand by retaining the “last word” in any of them ensures that the quality needed for both is not compromised in any way.
Let The Pros Do The Copy writing
The copy writing quality is the first thing your potential customers will see. Be it through the website, a press release, sales letters, etc. It will be the first impression made on them. Therefore its quality must be top notch.
It should be written in a clear, concise, informative, and persuasive. With these requirements in mind, it should be obvious that a professional writer is needed to do the job.
The skills of a qualified professional writer do not come cheap, especially those who have the much needed skills to search engine optimize(SEO) their work. Some writers charge a dollar or more for their optimized work, while the unoptimized work is around fifty cents or less per word. Many in the niche marketing arena are willing to pay such high prices as they know that the work will be more than worth it in the end.
Let The Pros Design And Build Your Website
Like the skilled writers mentioned above, those website designers who are SEO skilled are in equal high demand as they are also critical to a niche marketer’s success. Being SEO friendly is so very important as it can result in a great deal of traffic being driven to it from the search engines.
Most, if not all, Internet users rely on the search engines to provide the most useful information on any given subject at any given time. They are likely to use only the first page results of any given search for their purposes. It is for this reason that being SEO friendly is in the niche marketer’s best interests. It is for this reason that many niche marketers invest so heavily in SEO.
Two of the main strategies being used is keyword density and a clean website design. These are but two of the many strategies that can be employed to bolster search engine rankings. Others can involve choosing a domain name, to the use of meta tags and alt tags, or using an easy to use site map.
These are but a few of the most basic SEO strategies. It should be noted that these techniques change on a seemingly regular basis as the search engines adjust their algorithms and industry pros attempt new ideas as they try to improve their rankings. This is not a simple job and requires a full time website design firm to keep up with the critical changes.

If you are like a lot of people, you are probably trying to promote a number of business opportunities, etc. individually and, just as probably, not seeing any results. You may be very frustrated and almost ready to quit.
Before you decide to the throw in the towel and give up, let me make a few suggestions that may help you get started at making money online.
1. Get a website. Now this may seem silly, but hear me out. You can get a free website through any one of a number of free website hosting services. OR you can get your own domain and host one. While the latter may have some cost, there is a certain respect you get with your own domain that cannot be found by hosting through free hosting.
2. Get a professional looking template. Your template will have a direct reflection on you so it should be neat, clean, and easy to navigate. They are asy to find and you can get them at relatively cheap prices.
3. Organize your site based on services, etc. One good rule of thumb is not to overpopulate your pages, nor under populate them. You will either give your perspective customers too many choices or too few. This is where you plan where you want to put the services that you are offering.
4. You can add either Google Adsense ads or any similar service to add to your potential revenue. When doing this, make sure you familiarize yourself with the Term of Service and the regulations of the service you are using. It will help guide your advertising efforts.
5. Blog your website. This will help in the search engine rankings as you add daily messages to your blog. Remember original content is king, so don’t copy other works.
6. Promote only the one site. Now that all of the services, etc. are on one site you can focus all of your advertising on that site alone and not have to spread it around. This concentrated advertising effort will help target your traffic.

Outsourcing Everything But Your Profits
Posted on April 12, 2008
Filed Under OutSourcing | 8 Comments
Outsourcing can be one of the most profitable decisions a niche marketer can make. The most beneficial advantage to this decision is the ability to reduce the cost of the job. There are those who take it to the extreme by outsourcing the majority of their niche marketing tasks.
With other industries, the idea of outsourcing most of the work could lead to failure as the business owner could lose both control and coordination of the projects. With Internet niche marketing, however, this strategy can be very being effective and reducing the business owner’s workload considerably, while raising his profits considerably.
With Outsourcing Almost Everything Works
The idea of outsourcing all or most of the projects in any given niche marketing effort can be a profitable way to do business. The tasks might include, copy writing, website design, website promotion, website management, and so on. The niche marketer may include all of the tasks as part of his outsourcing or most of it reserving some of the tasks for himself, such as niche selection, keyword selection and development, etc. The tasks he or she may choose to keep are the most important ones and not to be delegated to others.
Outsourcing For Quality Content
Copy writing is considered one of the most profitable ideas to benefit any niche marketer. It has the added advantage of being outsourced to a huge group of talented writers who can provide excellent content for websites and e-book projects. they can make the material informative, accurate, and persuasive to the readers who visit the sites or read the material.
There are a smaller group of talented writers who can even offer services related to preparing sites for Search Engine Optimization. This service is considered more of an art for those who are really skilled at it.
These aforementioned writers have the skills to interweave keywords and phrases into articles and website content in ways that attract both the search engines and their respective visitors.
The Outsourced Website Design
As with the writing industry, their are those in the website design industry that are capable of making sites pleasing to the eye and functional at the same time.
Also, as with the writers who are capable of doing excellent Search Engine Optimization work, there are those website designers who are capable of designing websites that are very SEO friendly.
It should be noted that a website being Search Engine Optimized is critical to its successful niche marketing campaign. The reason here is due to the higher the search engine rankings a site has the better the traffic.
For this reason alone, it is easy to understand why website designers with SEO skills are at such a premium. It is also easy to understand why many in the Internet Marketing industry are willing to meet their prices.
The Outsourced Niche Website Management
For those marketers who have multiple niches, another outsourcing option can be the care and management of some or all of the sites themselves. They may find those who are skilled in management to oversee some or all of these sites. The managers themselves would take over the responsibilities of the business owner to run the site and take care of all of the duties related to that particular niche.
Therein lies the danger of this type of outsourcing. The owner would need to take very special care in selecting the right person for the job and would need to verify his qualifications.
If the business owner fails to do this, his niche would, in all likely hood, suffer from substandard work on the manager’s part. This, in turn, would cause customer dissatisfaction. Once this has taken root, it is even harder to get these customers to return.
